Metro Magazine has awarded Xentrans and the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA) an Innovative Solutions Award 2025 for its implementation of TrainManager for rail operations in Oakland, California. TrainManager is a cloud-based managed service developed by Xentrans to improve day-to-day management of rolling stock, including the planning and assembly of multiple passenger cars into in-service train sets.

“We’re elated to see TrainManager recognized for what it is: not just a solution to a spreadsheet problem, but a platform with multiplicative impacts on operational efficiency and data reliability,” says Jim Allison, manager, planning, at CCJPA. “Innovation was overdue in this aspect of our industry, and we’re happy to have taken this step.”
An article about TrainManager and its deployment for managing Northern California intercity passenger rail can be found on Metro Magazine’s web site. Xentrans will be demonstrating TrainManager at this year’s TrainComms conference in London, November 19-20.
